Favorite Webtoons Part 2

Study Group

Just like the previously mentioned “Jungle Juice”, this is also part of the YLAB universe. According to Line Webtoon, “Nicknamed the “school for future criminals,” Yusung Technical High School isn’t exactly the ideal place to study. A rarity among his peers, Gamin is a student with just one goal: to get into university. At a school where it’s every man for himself, he is rejected from countless study groups before he decides to form his own. When Hankyeong, Gamin’s former tutor, joins his high school in hopes of earning her teacher certification, it seems like they’re both reaching for the impossible. Can they defeat the odds and achieve their dreams?” Each episode/chapter is very long, and is one of the funniest Webtoons I’ve ever read. I would highly recommend this to anyone. The main character is unusually disciplined, and I feel like a lot of asian parents would like him LOL.

Hip Guy

This definitely ties with “Study Group” as one of the funniest Webtoons I’ve read so far. This series revolve around a young fashion designer named Ga-eun who owns her own athleisure company. She is in desperate need of a good model for her new line of leggings that are aimed at men. By a chance encounter, she meets a man named Chan, and is absolutely enthralled by his butt. They then begin working together and falling for each other. 🥺🥰

Judge and Executioner

This is one of the darkest manhwas I’ve ever had the pleasure of stumbling upon. Characterized as a thriller, this series goes above and beyond the genre, venturing deep into the horror category. Line Webtoon summarizes it the best. “Shin, a serial murderer, has shaken the entire nation of South Korea to its core. Jihu Seo, who lost his father to Shin’s evil deeds, meets another victim: Duseok Kim, a former detective who also had his family murdered by Shin. Duseok vows to turn Jihu into a human weapon to exact revenge on Shin — in prison, with his bare hands. “Korea has not implemented the death penalty since 1997. With no one else upholding justice, what other choice is there?” The plot is multi-layered with horrifying twists and turns that’ll leave readers with their herats racing.

Muse on Fame

Have you ever read something and thought to yourself “Wow, the author is so intelligent!” Well, that’s exactly what I thought while reading this series. It dives deep into the world of celebrities and what it takes in order to “make it.” Each and every single character is well-developed, with complex personalities and actions. As Webtoon said, “I’m an unknown actress who cleans houses as a side gig. Ironically, my name means fame.” Struggling actress Myeong stumbles upon a photo exhibition filled with photos of her younger self, when she was filled with hope. Can she become a star as this mysterious photographer’s muse?” Some of the characters make you wanna slap them. I’m thoroughly impressed by the author’s ability to elicit such a visceral reaction from me after reading it.
