Some of my Favorite Webtoons!

Jungle Juice

This is a Korean manhwa that is a part of the YLAB universe. It revolves around a college student named Suchan who suddenly turns into a bug after using a certain brand of insect repellent. He then gets introduced to a whole group of people-insect hybrids that are suffering the same side effects as he is. He gets enrolled in a special university and has to fight enemy bugs. This is a very well written and informative manhwa that supplies the readers with plenty of cool information about insects.

Back To You

This is a sad romance manhwa that tells the story of a young girl named Hayoung that travels back in time to save her high school crush named Jaehyun from an accident. Despite having minimal interactions with Jaehyun in the past, this time she vows to become his friend. This series was incredibly deep and had a lot of thought-provoking moments. One of the best parts is definitely the quotes— I related to a lot of them, and the author knew how to touch hearts with their words. I cried really hard while reading this, and I wish I could read it for the first time again.

Tales of the Unusual

There is honestly no better title than the one above. This manhwa contains a series of different short stories that are mildly related to each other. They are extremely strange and very creative. Some of my favorite ones include “Beauty Water” (which is about a special type of water that can change facial texture into clay so that people can reshape their faces to become prettier) and “My Wife’s Memories” (A man has to live with his wife’s ghost after she dies from a fire. Incredibly heartbreaking and I weeped.)

Pigpen

This series was WILD. Written by popular horror author Carnby Kim, this is about a young man who wakes up in an unfamiliar house on a random island that is seemingly in the middle of nowhere. He has no memories, and the family that he is living with act extremely sus and refuse to tell him anything. There is also a shocking twist towards the end that will leave readers with their jaws on the ground. In my opinion, this is Carnby Kim’s best work.
